Consumer Protection:
Did you know Plumbing Companies right here in Houston are braking the laws of Texas?  Are those same companies braking the safety laws too, just to get your money?

Know your rights to protect yourself, your home, and your family!

Hot water temperature in your home should not be set above 120 degrees.

The Little valve, either on the side or top the water heater, is called a temperature and pressure relief valve. Manufacturers recommend testing this valve at least once a year, to prevent water heater tank damage and/or explosion. If the water heater safety valve has a drain line that is disconnected, please call either us, or another licensed professional, to install or correct the safety issue. F.Y.I. on water heaters, the safety valve is designed to open and discharge at 150 p.s.i or 210' degrees. We are concerned with what and who
could get hurt.

Most can install a water heater, yet that does not make them a plumber. A "handyman" is a perfect example. He may be able to do the work, but how can you be sure? Is it really worth not using a professional? Has the handyman been trained, tested and licensed in the plumbing safety rules and laws that we chose to adopt and recognize to protect ourselves, our family and our neighbors?
Know your rights!

When you choose a plumbing company, or choose to use someone who claims that they are a plumber, insist that they provide you with this information before ANY work begins.

Licensing:

1. Verify that the individual performing the actual work is either licensed or registered as per Licensing Laws. Ask to see their license pocket card.
A registered apprentice IS NOT a licensed plumber. Many run apprentices in place of licensed plumbers.

2. In the State of Texas, a plumbing company can only be ran by a "Responsible Master Licensed Plumber", with a current certificate of general liability insurance on file with the State Board of Plumbing Examiners. Ask for the Master Plumber License number (it should be posted on the side of the work truck MPL#), ask to see a current copy of their certificate of insurance. If something happens while working at your home, won't you be happy you did? Our State is watching out for the consumer.

3. Anyone working with a licensed plumber, performing plumbing work, should be registered with the State Board. Ask to see their registration pocket card.
This can possibly prevent you from inviting an undesirable, mass murderer into your home.
